About

It's a bit like Strava segments, but for peaks and cols.

Summit Bag automatically compares your Strava data against a database of over 200,000 geographical features, and identifies which peaks and cols you have bagged in your activities, making it the ultimate tool for peak baggers.

You can track your progress on famous feature groups - like the Scottish Munros - and discover new groups.

Your data remains private and secure.

Summit Bag is hosted within Google's cloud infrastructure, and we use Google's built-in authentication system which means we never have access to any passwords you enter.

If you are interested then please read SB's full privacy policy. In short, none of your Strava data will ever be seen by or sold to third parties.

Data sources and acknowledgements.

Summit Bag would not be possible without the generous open source community.

In particular I would like to thank the Database of British and Irish Hills and OpenStreetMap contributors for allowing the use of their carefully curated geographical datasets.

In addition I would of course like to thank Strava for their generosity in creating an ecosystem in which "powered by Strava" apps can thrive.

Summit Bag is an independent project, built with love by one developer.

Summit Bag was created by Phil Bellamy over many evenings, late nights, and weekends throughout 2021. It is a total re-make of a much smaller 2017 project of the same name.
